Shutterstock meeting in Rotterdam

Shutterstock was so kind to invite me to their meeting in Rotterdam for graphic designers and other illustrators. It was nice to see so many other Shutterstock contributors in a location that is not Amsterdam.

CRAVE food photography

This month I organized a workshop for 18 photographers together with chef Claire Sullivan from CRAVE Good Food. The best part about organising a food photography workshop is that you get to eat the food afterwards 🙂

Nightscape photography workshop

The Amsterdam Photo Club recently went to photograph the Amsterdam city skyline during sunset. With weather forecasts estimating rain showers, we dared to still go to NDSM, a secluded industrial area of Amsterdam..

Shutterstock lecture

Last week Keren Sachs and Gerd Mittmann from Shutterstock paid a visit to our photo club. Keren gave an inspiring lecture in producing high quality photos for image licensing. They also took the time for a portfolio review, helping many of our club’s members improve their photography skills.

Photographing The Red Square

I recently got the opportunity to travel to Moscow. With little time for taking photos, of course the main subject of choice was The Red Square. As any photographer knows, getting there VERY early in the morning is a great opportunity to photograph a popular tourist attraction with little to no people and good side lighting. Getting the perfect shot was difficult, due to a concert area being build right in front of the famous Saint Basil’s Cathedral. So the only possible shots were close-ups.
