2016Another photowalk with for the Amsterdam Photo Club. This time discovering the Jordaan district, passing by the Westerkerk, the Noorderkerk, one of the the city’s most popular markets, the Noordermarkt and visit inner courtyards in the neighbourhood.

2016Those interested in photography have most likely heard of the Nikon photo contest scandal last week. The winning entry “Look Up” by Singaporean photographer Chay Yu Wei turned out to be photoshopped. Though the photo was photoshopped, creating similar images is not that difficult without the use of Photoshop. Planes will depart and land in the same pattern If you ever spot one plane landing in a nice framing while looking up, chances are that another plane (and another and another..) will fly through the exact same frame every 3 minutes.

2016This weekend it was time to photograph the annual Amsterdam Chocolate Festival. Many chocolates exhibited by top patissiers and chocolatiers, while seeing the latest trends and developments in their business. A photographic journey through the cocoa chain, and at the same time learning how chocolate is being made from bean to bar.

2016It is always fun photographing the opening of the Dutch tulip season, as National Tulip Day comes to town. . On this day everyone is invited to pick their own tulip for free from a specially constructed ‘picking garden’ at Amsterdam’s Dam Square! National Tulip Day brings Dutch tulip growers together for the creation of a massive temporary garden on Dam Square, bursting with around 200,000 tulips. More than 10,000 people come along to pick up their own free tulip.

2016Every two months, the Amsterdam Photo Club organises it’s core meeting of portfolio reviews. Giving the members opportunities to showcase their latest photos, learn and get inspired from each other. Tonight’s photo club meeting covered many photography genres: portraiture, journalism, travel, newborns, fine art, product, stock, macro and long exposures at night.
