2015For our photo club’s 14th photowalk, we are inviting you to a journey outside of Amsterdam on February 28, 2015. Come discover the beautiful city of Utrecht at night! An exact route of the walk will be published a week before the event takes place. To increase the quality of your night photography photos, we suggest making long exposure photos using a tripod and cable release/remote. See our website’s photowalk for more information about what to expect from this event: http://amsphotoclub.com/photowalks/. To take part in this event, please sign-up in our Meetup group: http://www.meetup.com/Amsterdam-Photo-Club/events/219930764/

2015On January 15th 2015 I had the pleasure to present together with Gerd Mittmann (VP, International at Shutterstock). Since we launched our Shutterstock program, we have learned loads about the microstock industry. We had a great time on sharing all the tips and trick to more easily become a successful Shutterstock contributor. We covered how to avoid common mistakes many photographers do. How to speed up the submission process and use Shutterstock to your own advantage for developing your photography skills.

2014This winter, Amsterdam was light up once again during the Amsterdam Light Festival. This was the third edition of the winter light festival for young and old. For more than fifty days, the historical center of Amsterdam was the unique décor for this international festival. Naturally the Amsterdam Photo Club had to photograph it. The city was complemented by light sculptures, projections and installations by contemporary (inter)national artists. The theme for this year’s festival, ‘A Bright City’, challenged artists to create a tribute to life the city. The resulting artworks presented a unique take on the modern city of Amsterdam.

2014If there is one photography exhibition or documentary you MUST see in 2014, it would be ‘Finding Vivian Maier’. An exciting photography exhibition (and documentary) about a nanny in 60-70’s New York and Chicago who, unbeknown to many, had a secret passion for photography. Her incredible body of work, only discovered after her death, lives on and has established her as one of the master street photographers.
