My spring students in ‘Basic Digital Photography’ finishing their last course exercise, mastering manual exposure with slow-sync flash. A new round of courses will start in September.

Today a model shoot while teaching advance photography course participants how to shoot with models. At NDSM Amsterdam.

First attempt to photograph the moon together with the Amsterdam Photo Club. No telephoto lens. So we did our best figuring out the best settings  and ha whole lot of cropping.

After half a year developing my portfolio towards Shutterstock’s submission requirements, I was finally accepted. Not the easiest task, but definitively worth the effort.

I recently guided a photowalk for the Amsterdam Photo Club in the city’s oldest, most beautiful, culturally-rich and historic neighbourhoods: the Jordaan.  The walk took us through the many courtyards, cafes and canals of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

FOAM – Photography Museum Amsterdam has in 2014 re-invented their club membership. Club Foam is an active group of photography and art enthusiasts between the ages of 25 and 40 years. The Club enables young photographers to expand their knowledge of photography, discover surprising cultural sites and be part of a growing and diverse network of young, often international photography, art and culture enthusiasts.

An exciting new project that I am now happy to be a part of.

This year I will be photographing the 2014 Amsterdam Light Festival. The Amsterdam Light Festival is a winter event that illuminates and enriches the city of Amsterdam with the works of multiple artists. This year’s theme “Building with Light” includes 30 light sculptures and projections by international artists in addition to the Water Colors, a boat tour that exhibits artworks along the Amsterdam canals and the Amstel River, and the walking route and Illumined that will take place in the center of the city.

Trying to keep up with much of the competition in the market, I am currently studying ‘Marketing for Photographers’, a brand new designed course at the New York Institute of Photography.
