First attempt to photograph the moon together with the Amsterdam Photo Club. No telephoto lens. So we did our best figuring out the best settings  and ha whole lot of cropping.

After half a year developing my portfolio towards Shutterstock’s submission requirements, I was finally accepted. Not the easiest task, but definitively worth the effort.

I recently guided a photowalk for the Amsterdam Photo Club in the city’s oldest, most beautiful, culturally-rich and historic neighbourhoods: the Jordaan.  The walk took us through the many courtyards, cafes and canals of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

FOAM – Photography Museum Amsterdam has in 2014 re-invented their club membership. Club Foam is an active group of photography and art enthusiasts between the ages of 25 and 40 years. The Club enables young photographers to expand their knowledge of photography, discover surprising cultural sites and be part of a growing and diverse network of young, often international photography, art and culture enthusiasts.

An exciting new project that I am now happy to be a part of.

This year I will be photographing the 2014 Amsterdam Light Festival. The Amsterdam Light Festival is a winter event that illuminates and enriches the city of Amsterdam with the works of multiple artists. This year’s theme “Building with Light” includes 30 light sculptures and projections by international artists in addition to the Water Colors, a boat tour that exhibits artworks along the Amsterdam canals and the Amstel River, and the walking route and Illumined that will take place in the center of the city.

Trying to keep up with much of the competition in the market, I am currently studying ‘Marketing for Photographers’, a brand new designed course at the New York Institute of Photography.

Today we had our Game of Thrones inspired photoshoot at the Posthoornkerk in Amsterdam. The workshop was a part of the Amsterdam Photo Club’s biannual event titled Real Shoot Experience. Organised by Megan Alter Photography, the workshop let’s advanced amateur- and semi-pro photographers the opportunity to be professional photographers for a day. We hire models, stylists, make-up artists, hairdressers and lighting equipment, and rotate the photographers in different styled model stations.

You would think a piece of network equipment would be the easies model to photograph. But it is not as easy as it looks. I was asked by the RIPE NCC to photograph promotional photos for the upcoming RIPE Atlas Anchors. Equipment helping to facilitate measuring traffic on the Internet.

This month my photos of Restaurant Supermercado Amsterdam are published in the magazines: “Delicious” and “Venuez“.

Today I decided to drag two other Amsterdam Photo Club memebers to one of FOAMs courses in collecting fine art photography  An opportunity to learn how the market works, and to understand the mindset of the photography collectors I want to sell my photography to one day.

Today we had a casting call with model Valeriya Maleyeva, for our upcoming Game of Thrones Real Shoot Experience. It is uncanny how much she resembles actress Sophie Turner that plays Sansa Stark in the very popular HBO TV series.

Today I completed my course in Digital Art Photography at the Arizona Sessions College for Professional Design. I got an A+ on my final exam from the School. The series focus on “Nightmares”, and the different emotional stages everyone shares when waking up from one.

A photo I took last year of my friend Mark, is used in the booklet for a theatrical play titled: “The Normal Heart”

I recently won the “We love our animals” photo contest for the skincare company Paula’s Choice.
